Wino uzyskało rekomendację w konkursie World Wine Awards magazynu Decanter.

The grapes were handpicked from a carefully selected parcel of vines situated on gently sloping terroir. After gentle extraction and pressing, this wine spent twelve months aging in French and American oak barrels. Colour: Opaque, almost black red. Nose: Magnificently rich plum jam and liquorice aromas with hints of dark chocolate. Palate: Big, expressive and intense flavours. Black fruit dominates but is combined with mocha and coffee, which provides a round, smooth finish. Drink: Now until 2014. The infamous 2008 Guide Hachette highly recommends the Domaine Sainte Rose Le Pinacle Syrah 2005, giving 2 out of 3 stars! "This vintage climbs to new summits. On the nose, perfumed black berries meet sweet spice and finely measured oak. Ample and round with accents of vanilla." Guide Hachette, 2008 Jancis Robinson, MW picks Le Pinacle Syrah 2005 as one of her dozen favourite reds in her article entitled "France's handcrafted, hidden treasures". Jancis Robinson, MW Financial Times, September 2007. "Quite exceptionally dark purplish crimson. Yes, Very Syrah: leather and tar and the ripe canon of luscious marinaded game. Very New World and open and fair bit obvious and jagged rather than typically Languedoc but very successful in that idiom. Massive alcohol is pretty obvious but the acidity and tannins are not obtrusive. This should have a long life and could already be enjoyed." Jancis Robinson MW, www.jancisrobinson.com , September 2007 "Dense, complex - notes of blackberry, morello cherry, liquorice & spice. Classic Syrah - intense, pure fruit expression, with impressive structure & the oak & tannins knitting in nicely. The luxurious mouthfeel calls for slow-cooked meat casseroles & hard cheeses, like mature Gouda or a farmhouse Red Leicester. " Neil Courtier, Grape Sense, October 2007 "A rich, smoky and spicy bramble nose. Sophisticated perfumed bell pepper and violet fruit with elegant ripe tannins. Supple, mineral and classy." Commended! Andrew Jefford, Decanter World Wine Awards, 2006 "100% Syrah from the d'Oc, this wine is a careful selection of Syrah vineyard parcels, hand-picked and vinified for one year in French and American oak. It is dramatically dark and has a lovely nose, where finely seasoned berry fruits and chocolate intermingle with little camphor and floral notes, plenty of exotic, sandalwood spice and warming vanillin. On the palate the concentration and structure of the juicy, lithe Syrah fruit pushes through the mid-palate, with a sweep of smoky oak, ripe, chocolaty tannins and cherry-skin acidity adding lots of complexity. The fruit in this wine seems much better matched to the oak, and Domaine Sainte Rose's suggestion of five or six year's cellaring seems reasonable. A great wine from a moderate year this one, and very good indeed/excellent." Tom Cannavan, wine-pages.com, 2005

The wines were produced by Charles & Ruth Simpson who enlisted the help of neighbouring artist friends Andy & Pascale Bridge to create a truly unique brand name and image for each wine. The COQ D'OC Rouge is Syrah-dominant Languedoc blend. It is deep, ruby red in colour and has a raspberry jam, chocolate and rich mocha nose. On the palate the wine has more obvious blackberry fruit, spice and pepper. It has round tannins and a generous finish. ‘Le Coq d’Oc’ was the brainchild of Andy and Pascale, initially using a realistic French cockerel painting with striking colours for the label prototype. Ultimately artist Andy and designer Pascale moulded the ‘Coq’ into a more sophisticated, stylised bird, which still oozes the attitude that the initial prototypes conveyed and the name demands. The proud Cockerel could as easily be strutting through Harrods as promenading through the Languedoc countryside. It conveys the fact that although the wine was created by British producers and the image was created by British artists the product is 100% French and 100% Languedoc and proud to be so!

Opis Szczep: Chardonnay.
Opis Mieszanka Roussanne i Chardonnay – dwóch białych gron uprawianych w winnicy. Opis Szczep: Roussanne. We first created this wine in the 2003 vintage as a one-off, but due to the cult following this wine now enjoys we continue with it to this day. The freshness of the fruit provides hints of melon and the barrel aging has created vanilla notes and a smoky richness. Opis Petit Verdot - Mourvedre Cyt.: "Les Derniers Cépages (ostatnie/najpóźniejsze odmiany) to nietypowa mieszanka gron dwóch najpóźniej dojrzewających odmian winogron - Mourvedre i Petit Verdot. "

We enlisted the help of neighbouring artist friends Andy & Pascale Bridge to create a unique brand name and image for this wine. The scallop shell was a very appropriate image to use for wine from Sainte Rose for two historical reasons. Firstly this shell was a waymarker for Medieval travellers on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela. There is one such shell embossed on a stone basin in front of our house as this site was once a hostellerie offering shelter to pilgrims travelling west. Secondly we have found actual scallop shells in one of our vineyards that date back to Roman times as there was a Roman settlement on the outskirts of what is now our local village. Le Coquille D'Oc Red Wine is Syrah-dominant Languedoc blend. It is deep, ruby red in colour and has a raspberry jam, chocolate and rich mocha nose. On the palate the wine has more obvious blackberry fruit, spice and pepper. It has round tannins and a generous finish "A lovely syrah-based red...It has excellent bramble fruit and an appealing, spicy chocolate finish." Brian Elliot, Scotland on Sunday 27th March, 2012
